Mumbai: In a significant development, YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra has confessed to being in regular contact with a staff member of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, according to officials. The disclosure came during her interrogation by Hisar Police, triggering a wider probe into her alleged links with Pakistani intelligence operatives.

Hisar Police spokesperson Vikas Kumar confirmed that Malhotra admitted to communicating directly with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish, a Pakistani national working at the High Commission, from November 2023 to March 2025. “She confessed to her direct communication with Danish during this period,” Kumar said. “She was also in contact with several other YouTube influencers.”

Authorities believe that Danish was attempting to develop Malhotra as an intelligence asset. Her digital devices—including three mobile phones and a laptop—have been seized for forensic examination. In addition, two mobile phones belonging to Harkirat Singh, the IT in-charge of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC), have also been sent for analysis.

Sources told Hindustan Times that Malhotra was grilled extensively by officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) regarding her suspected links with Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs). Her interactions, both digital and financial, are now under close scrutiny.

A senior Hisar police official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “She has multiple bank accounts, and there have been numerous transactions. Analyzing the financial data will take time.”
