Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered disciplinary action against five officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) following the fatal building collapse in Satya Niketan that claimed seven lives and left several others injured.
The action marks a major administrative response to the incident, with officials from different levels of the civic body being suspended over their alleged connection to the circumstances surrounding the collapse.
According to an official government release, the suspended personnel include a Deputy Commissioner, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer.
