World Environmental Day celebrated with great enthusiasm at Kandi Kupwara

Srinagar: As we all know that we are going through severe environmental degradation issues due to numerous human activities. In view of this, on the direction of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary and PCCF/Director Social Forestry department Jammu & Kashmir, is celebrating the whole week as environmental awareness week in which multiple awareness programs have been organised till date throughout the J&K Union Territory.

In order to encourage the common masses to perform their active role in saving this Mother Earth under the notion of ” One Planet, One Earth.” 

Following the same objective, the Social Forestry Division of Kupwara is organising an awareness drive in Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Kandi to inculcate the concept of eco-friendliness among the young generation which is obviously our future.

Senior Trade union Leader, National Secretary TUCC India and Block Officer SF Block Kupwara, Syed Ghulam Rasool Geelani on the occasion laid stress on the necessity to advocate for a greener environment and the conservation of nature, because when we conserve the environment today, future generations will be able to lead a healthier life.

Geelani said that the World Environment Day is the perfect opportunity to make people aware of the issues we are facing and how one can contribute towards saving the environment. 

He emphasized on saving our Mother Earth as it is the only planet where life exists and our well-being solely depends on the state of this planet. He also urged upon the common masses to not let the green-gold plantation and protection holistically rely on the forest department but work for the betterment of this society on an individual level as well.
