Udaipur: Amid ongoing public outrage in Udaipur over the tragic death of a young doctor, senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot has slammed the state administration for its negligence and delay in action, calling it a sign of deep flaws in the system.
Pilot questioned the governance standards and demanded stronger accountability.
“Recently in Udaipur, a tragic incident happened involving a doctor, and now, due to the death of this young individual, people are protesting and demonstrating. Why are such situations arising? It clearly points to shortcomings in the system,” he said.
Pilot emphasized that the public anger and protests that followed the doctor’s death are rooted in systemic failures, including the government’s “casual and insensitive approach.”
“The young doctor who passed away, his family and colleagues have been demanding justice… The matter was addressed yesterday and action was taken by the government, satisfying the family, but it took an unreasonably long time,” Pilot added.
The incident sparked widespread demonstrations across Udaipur, especially from the medical community, which accused the authorities of delayed response and mishandling of the case. Doctors and students staged sit-ins demanding justice and better safety measures in hospitals.
