Fake Alert: Embassy in Israel Dismisses Rumours About Indian Workers Being Forced to Return or Face Jail

New Delhi: The Embassy of India in Israel has issued a strong clarification, debunking a fake message circulating on social media that claims Indian workers in Israel would be forced to return to India or face jail or fines if they register with the embassy.

The embassy has categorically termed this message as “completely false and misleading.”

“A message circulating on social media claiming Indian workers in Israel would be forced to return to India or face jail/fine if they register with the Embassy of India is FAKE,” the Indian Embassy in Israel posted on X (formerly Twitter).

This clarification comes amid increased sensitivity surrounding the safety and documentation of Indian workers in conflict-affected zones. Officials have urged Indian nationals not to believe unverified claims and to rely only on official channels for accurate information.

The embassy reiterated that registration with the Indian mission is voluntary, and is meant to assist and support citizens, especially in times of emergency or crisis.
