The suspense over who will be the chief ministerial candidate for the Mahavikas Aghadi remains intact, while the tussle for the CM’s post in the Grand Alliance (Mahayuti) shows no signs of easing. Ajit Pawar had once been a strong contender for the chief ministerial position within the state, but now the political landscape has shifted. Eknath Shinde is being touted as the leading face of the Mahayuti, yet recently, BJP leader Girish Mahajan has added another twist by suggesting that Devendra Fadnavis is the chief minister in his view. This has raised a critical question: whose face will the Mahayuti present to the voters in the upcoming elections?

In Nanded, Marathwada Liberation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The district’s Guardian Minister, Girish Mahajan, hoisted the main government flag at Mata Gujiri Visava Park and paid tribute at the Martyrdom Memorial. The police force performed a ceremonial gun salute, honoring the martyrs. The event saw participation from freedom fighters, including MP Ashok Chavan, MP Dr. Ajit Gopchde, MLAs, officers, employees from various departments, and local citizens.

Girish Mahajan emphasized that the state government is committed to providing aid to farmers. “We have provided assistance of Rs 450 crore to the farmers this year,” he stated, adding that all necessary Panchnamas have been conducted to facilitate this aid. On the issue of reservations, particularly concerning Maratha leader Manoj Jarange Patil’s demands, Mahajan remarked that the government is striving to offer a permanent reservation solution that would benefit the Maratha community. He also highlighted the government’s efforts to grant 10 percent reservation, reiterating a positive approach toward fulfilling these demands.
