Esha Deol and her husband of 11 years, Bharat Takhtani, recently revealed that they are parting ways ‘amicably’. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, shared the news in a statement, emphasizing the importance of their two daughters, Radhya, 6, and Miraya, 4, amid this transition.
Their separation comes over a decade after they gave their first interview together, where Esha candidly spoke about her role in Bharat’s family, comparing herself to her mother, Hema Malini’s character in the film Satte Pe Satta, as the first daughter-in-law among seven cousins.
In the same interview, Esha shared insights into their relationship dynamic, including Bharat’s desire for her to maintain her weight and their journey into ashtanga yoga classes. She also reflected on her mother’s advice about household responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of balancing family duties.
Bharat, on the other hand, described Esha as ‘gharelu (homely)’, highlighting her caring nature and her efforts to ensure his happiness, even learning to cook his favorite dishes despite initially having little culinary experience.
