Ahmedabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has firmly declared that the Congress will not allow the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to gain a foothold in Telangana. Speaking at the AICC meeting in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, Reddy emphasized that under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, Congress would take all necessary measures to prevent the BJP from making inroads into the state.
“I stand on the soil of Vallabhbhai Patel and say this clearly: under Sonia Gandhi’s leadership, we will ensure the BJP is stopped in its tracks in Telangana,” said Reddy, as he urged Congress workers and Gandhi followers nationwide to unite against the BJP.
Revanth Reddy continued to rally support, asking Congress workers to take on the responsibility of defeating the BJP in the coming elections, specifically targeting “Godse’s descendants and Modi.” He also reflected on the historic ties between Telangana and Gujarat, noting that the region was liberated from Nizam’s rule by leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Vallabhbhai Patel. “The people of Telangana have a strong bond with the people of Gujarat, and with Patel’s legacy, we stand united against the BJP,” he added.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the significant contributions of both Vallabhbhai Patel and Sonia Gandhi, the latter being credited with granting statehood to Telangana. He further reiterated his government’s commitment to fulfilling Rahul Gandhi’s promises, including the waiver of Rs 21,000 crore in farm loans and the implementation of a caste census.
Reddy took a dig at Prime Minister Modi, accusing him of breaking his promise to create 2 crore jobs annually. “Modi promised 2 crore jobs per year. It’s been 11 years, and no jobs have been provided. Instead, every year, 2 crore youth are left jobless,” Reddy said, highlighting the failure of the Modi government to deliver on its employment promises.
