Opposing Dharavi redevelopment means rejecting Mumbai’s well-planned development
MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar
Mumbai : UBT plans to grab 37-acres of land by retendering for the Dharavi redevelopment project. This is a conspiracy being hatched for the benefit of Uddhav Thackeray’s second son’s love for plants and animals. They cannot bear the fact that the poor, who are living in dire conditions in Dharavi, Asia’s biggest slum, will be getting nice houses. This is nothing but rejecting Mumbai’s well-planned development, criticized Mumbai BJP president MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar on Thursday, November 7.
Ashish Shelar strongly responded to the allegations made by Uddhav Thackeray on Dharavi redevelopment project during the joint meeting of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. While talking to media persons at Bandra, Shelar said that there was no mention of Dharavi redevelopment in the 5 guarantees of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. But today, Uddhav Thackeray released the manifesto and declared his stance about Dharavi. Is this his personal stance? Isn’t it the stance of the entire Aghadi? Thackeray must clarify. It was as if someone handed over a script to him and he spoke likewise.
Is government’s decision to give the land to Adani, a fake narrative? Uddhav Thackeray’s statement is absolutely baseless, lambasted Shelar. Citing facts about it, Shelar said that during the state cabinet meeting, it was decided to allocate land for the ‘DRP’ i.e. Dharavi Redevelopment Project. This will be 100 percent government-owned institute. Then where does the question of land be given to Adani, arise? Uddhav Thackeray must provide some evidence about any proposal or if Adani’s name has been mentioned in the 7/12 document. He will not be able to provide as he is only lying.
In fact, Uddhav Thackeray was the one to have made the provision that additional space must be given for the redevelopment of Dharavi, if required when he was the chief minister. Why are you against handing over the Deonar dumping yard land after being treated for Dharavi redevelopment? Uddhav Thackeray claimed that they would be setting up an international financial park in Dharavi. In order to have such international parks, a central government resolution is required first. Right now, you are far from being in power in the state. And hence, why are you discussing about something that is way beyond your control? His assurance about Dharavi redevelopment is a big lie. Our stance is clear, those who oppose Dharavi redevelopment are actually denying Mumbai’s well-planned development. Opposing redevelopment of 550 acres of Dharavi in 437 sq. km area of Mumbai, implies that they do not want its planned development. And hence, Mumbaikars must teach UBT a good lesson, appealed Ashish Shelar.

Will you wallop the Congress, that supports Pakistan, with your shoes?
The Congress that backed the National Conference in Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, moved a resolution demanding special status for the state. They tried to get it approved unilaterally. In fact, there is no mention of Article 370 and 35 (A). Still, the kind of resolution passed, is completely illegal. BJP has strongly opposed in the Legislative Assembly. In fact, demanding the status of a special state is tantamount to endorsing Pakistan that is repeatedly making such demands on various global platforms. Congress supports it. Will Uddhav Thackeray wallop the Congress with their shoes? He needs to clarify his stance on it. Without any legal basis, the I.N.D.I Aghadi is trying to spread unrest by passing such resolutions. MVA seems to be plotting to create a similar environment in Maharashtra as well. That is why Uddhav Thackeray has started speaking the language of urban Naxals. And hence, the ordinary Shiv Sainik is preparing to greet Uddhav Thackeray with a ‘Lal Salaam’ instead of ‘Jai Maharashtra’, criticized Adv. Ashish Shelar.

Do not provoke our Koli brethren
The Mahayuti government has malice and bad intent about Koliwadas and Gaothans in the city. The rulers are planning cluster development in these areas. In short, the Mahayuti is taking everyone together and building towers leaving the remaining land to be handed over to their friends, alleged Uddhav Thackeray. In sharp response to this baseless allegation, Ashish Shelar said, “The Mahayuti government undertook the task of demarcating the Koliwadas. And hence, stop provoking our Koli brethren. During Uddhav Thackeray’s tenure, Worli Koliwada was declared a slum. So, stop spreading lies,” said Shelar.
