Kolkata: In a significant political development, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has reversed its earlier decision to opt out of the Centre’s diplomatic initiative under Operation Sindhoor, aimed at exposing Pakistan’s terror links globally. A day after distancing itself from the initiative, the Mamata Banerjee-led party announced on Tuesday that TMC National General Secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee would now join the all-party parliamentary delegation spearheading India’s international outreach against terrorism.

The TMC made the announcement via an official post on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “We’re delighted to share that our Chairperson Smt. @MamataOfficial has nominated Nat’l GS Shri @abhishekaitc to represent Trinamool Congress in the all-party delegation for India’s global outreach against terrorism.”

The party added that Banerjee’s participation would reflect both West Bengal’s and TMC’s firm stand against terrorism.

“At a time when the world must unite to confront the growing threat of terrorism, Shri Abhishek Banerjee’s inclusion brings both conviction and clarity to the table. His presence will not only reflect Bengal’s firm stand against terror but also strengthen India’s collective voice on the global stage,” the post read.
