Mumbai: In a shocking revelation, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Gurucharan Singh, known for his portrayal of ‘Sodhi’, is reportedly in critical condition and has been hospitalized after a severe decline in his health. His close friend Bhakti Soni, in an emotional conversation with media outlets, revealed the distressing details about his health.
Bhakti shared that Singh has not consumed food or water for the past 19 days, a condition that led him to lose consciousness and require immediate hospitalization. Although he was initially discharged, his health worsened, forcing his readmission to a government hospital. “He hasn’t eaten food or drunk water for 19 days. Because of that, he fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital,” Bhakti disclosed.
Despite his health struggles, Bhakti shared that Singh, known for his upbeat demeanor, tried to get back to work but was unsuccessful. She mentioned that he had even expressed a desire to take sanyas due to his personal challenges. Bhakti’s concern for his well-being was heightened as she shared that his family has been unreachable for the past two days, with his phone turned off.
Adding to the actor’s struggles, Bhakti revealed troubling details about Gurucharan Singh’s financial situation. She mentioned that he had accumulated a debt of about Rs 1.2 crore, though his father owns a property worth Rs 55 crore. However, the property is embroiled in a dispute with tenants who are refusing to vacate, complicating matters further. “If the dispute is resolved and the property is sold, he should be able to clear his loan,” Bhakti explained.
Despite these adversities, Singh’s emotional resilience was evident when he shared a heartfelt video from his hospital bed on the day after Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti. In the video, he thanked his followers for their support and expressed gratitude for the gift of life, stating, “God has blessed me with a new life,” even though he did not specify the cause of his hospitalization.
