Noida: Actor Sonu Sood has joined flood-relief efforts in Bihar, travelling by boat through affected villages in Begusarai to distribute essential supplies and meet residents. Sood shared photographs and videos from the visit on social media, showing himself and his team moving through inundated areas by boat and handing out relief material. Local reports said the operation covered villages in and around Begusarai, including parts of Matihani block.
In a video update, Sood said his team was trying to move from village to village and reach families that had suffered the greatest losses. “We will try to reach the families who have suffered the most loss,” he said, while also thanking local residents and boatmen for helping relief teams navigate the flooded areas. He added that the work was difficult, but local support was making it possible to reach more people.

Sood also met Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary in Patna during the visit to discuss the ongoing relief effort. Choudhary shared a photograph of the meeting on X.

Nearly 50 Lakh People Affected by Bihar Floods
The relief effort comes as large parts of Bihar remain affected by flooding. According to state disaster-management figures cited in official and agency reports, around 49.72 lakh people across 15 districts have been affected. Flooding has impacted dozens of blocks and hundreds of gram panchayats, while relief camps, community kitchens, boats and rescue teams remain in operation.
The situation is notable because Bihar has also recorded deficient monsoon rainfall this season. The state has received below-normal rainfall overall, yet major rivers have remained swollen because of upstream inflows and heavy rainfall in adjoining regions and Nepal. The Kosi and Ganga have remained above danger levels at several locations, including Baltara, Kursela and Kahalgaon, keeping flood conditions serious in low-lying areas.
