Srinagar: Senior trade union leader, President Jammu & Kashmir Social Forestry Employees Association and General Secretary J&K employees Joint Action Committee, Syed Ghulam Rasool Geelani on Monday extended special gratitude to Union Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology, Bhupendra Yadav, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary. Dr. Anum Kumar Mehta and Director Department of Social Forestry (J&K) and all the officers and officials involved in the process for conducting another Departmental Promotions Committee (DPC) in the department within six months.
“We are extremely happy and affirm that we would work tirelessly for outcome-based working in the department”, remarked Geelani.
Geelani hoped that the Government would regularize all the temporary workers holding the DPC’s regularly, will pay anomalies in various cadres and will also amend recruitment rules to create avenues for promotions for Mali’s redesignated in the department on priority basis.
He further said, “We feel happy and commit to work sincerely in participation and collaboration with Panchayat Raj Institutions for better outcome in days to come and in this context, I appeal to the government to chalk out a joint mechanism for greater coordination to avoid non-performance and negligence from other departments in carrying forward the afforestation and environment friendly programs initiated by the Central and Union Territory Governments.”
Geelani also appealed to the government employees and temporary workers to desist from participating in any general strike call given by national level union on March 28 and March 29 as the said strike was purely politically motivated and the association will never allow anybody to exploit the workforce.
