Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has launched a sharp counterattack against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, dismissing the latter’s recent remarks about the DMK government’s stance on NEET and delimitation as baseless. Speaking at a government function in Ponneri, Stalin challenged the BJP leadership to respond with facts rather than allegations.

The CM outlined a series of welfare measures undertaken by his government, including the Rs 1,000 monthly assistance scheme for women and the recent introduction of two Bills in the state assembly to ensure representation of persons with disabilities in all local bodies. Stalin said these initiatives have boosted self-confidence among citizens and contributed to the state’s steady development under the DMK regime.

He claimed that Tamil Nadu’s consistent top rankings across governance and law and order indicators have left his political opponents frustrated. In the absence of substantial criticism, they have resorted to spreading misinformation, he alleged.

Without naming the BJP or AIADMK, Stalin accused certain opposition parties of aligning with forces that undermine the interests of Tamil Nadu and its people. He warned that such alliances are aimed at politically mortgaging the state for selfish gains.

Reasserting the DMK’s leadership at the national level in defending federal values, Stalin said the party remains unwavering in its opposition to NEET, the three-language policy, and other central policies that, according to him, threaten Tamil Nadu’s autonomy and identity.
