Mumbai: Security arrangements at the Matoshree residence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in suburban Bandra has been beefed up after a threat call was received over a phone call from an unidentified number.  The miscreant had threatened to blow up ‘Matoshree’, the Chief Minister’s residence in Mumbai’s Bandra.

The threatening calls were received on Matoshree’s landline number. The calls were made in the name of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, confirmed by Harshal Pradhan, media advisor to Uddhav Thackeray.

Minister for Home Anil Deshmukh has also ordered the police to take action against the accused. The crime branch is currently investigating the matter.

“Matoshree is the symbol of contribution by Prabodhankar Thackeray, Balasaheb Thackeray and Maasaheb (Meenatai Thackeray). It is the place where Shiv Sena grew. Therefore, it is our duty to protect Matoshree against anyone who raises eyes on Matoshree and we will certainly do it,” she said.

Expressing faith in the state and city police as well as prime Minister Modi, Pednekar said that she was confident they would not let anything happen to Matoshree.

“If someone is trying to divert Uddhav Thackeray with these silly tricks, Uddhav ji will not get distracted. He is a patience leader and he does everything after giving it time and thought. Mere threat calls cannot distract him. We Shiv Sainiks are capable of protecting Matoshree and our leader by creating a wall of protection around him,” she added
