Mumbai: One Rupee Clinic has decided to provide Chemotherapy to the needy Cancer patients at a reasonable rate that too at their doorstep. This facility will be started in a week or two in order to avoid any risk to the Cancer patients. This facility will be provided at reasonable rates by the One Rupee Clinic.

During the lockdown, many centers which were giving service of Chemotherapy were closed due to which Cancer patients suffered a lot.  The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) along with the government arranged chemotherapy in some places but due to the low number of such centers, many patients had to face problems.

Cancer patients are at high risks of getting infected by Coronavirus. Therefore, it is dangerous for such patients to go out. However, many Cancer patients have been infected with the disease as they stepped out for getting Chemotherapy. Therefore, it has been decided to provide Chemotherapy for such patients at home, said Dr. Rahul Ghule, Head of the One Rupee Clinic.

There are many patients coming to Mumbai to get treatment for cancer. Many of these patients undergo chemotherapy. Patients have to wait for a week to 15 days to get their dose of Chemotherapy. Doctor Ghule is confident that this facility will be very useful for cancer patients.

Chemotherapy is given according to the patient’s condition and needs. It costs anywhere from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. However, Dr. Ghule said that they are thinking of providing this facility at a reasonable rate that too at the door steps of the patients.

The necessary machines, vehicles and medical personnel have been deployed for this and the service will be started from next week. Patients who want to avail this facility will be able to apply online by giving all their information online. Hence, they will get the date and time online only to avail the facility. Therefore, patients can avail this facility in a very simple way, said Dr. Ghule.
