New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday relaxed the bail conditions of Abbas Ansari, the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) MLA and son of jailed gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari. In a significant relief, the top court has now allowed Abbas to stay at his Ghazipur residence during visits to his assembly constituency Mau.
According to the revised conditions, Abbas Ansari can stay in Ghazipur for up to three nights a week. However, the apex court made it clear that the relaxation comes with a key restriction: he must refrain from making any political statements during his stay.
