Bhuj: In a sharp warning to Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday declared that India has kept its neighbour “on probation” following the recent ceasefire agreement after Operation Sindoor — a four-day military retaliation launched by India in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to Indian Air Force personnel at the Bhuj airbase, Singh said, “We have kept Pakistan on probation. If its behaviour improves, then okay, otherwise, it will be given the strictest punishment.” He made it clear that India’s patience is not unlimited and future actions will depend on Pakistan’s conduct.

The Defence Minister emphasised that Operation Sindoor is far from over, and warned of more powerful responses in the future if needed. “Whatever happened was just a trailer. When the right time comes, we will show the full picture to the world,” Singh declared.

The ceasefire agreement, reached on May 10, followed four days of heavy strikes by the Indian armed forces targeting terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). These strikes came after intelligence confirmed the involvement of terror groups in the April 22 attack that killed several security personnel.

Singh lauded the Indian Air Force (IAF) for its swift and strategic execution. “It would not be incorrect for me to say that the duration people take to have breakfast, you used that duration to deal with enemies. You dropped missiles by going to the land of enemies,” he said.
