Raut Fires Back as Political Tensions Rise
Amid growing political uncertainty surrounding Shiv Sena (UBT), party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday launched a blistering attack on rivals, accusing them of attempting to intimidate the party through investigative agencies and political pressure.
His remarks came at a time when speculation over defections and internal challenges within the Uddhav Thackeray-led camp continues to dominate Maharashtra’s political landscape.
“You Bring Your Army, We Will Bring Ours”
Addressing reporters, Raut dismissed threats allegedly coming from political opponents and asserted that his party would not bow to pressure.
“You bring your army, we will bring ours. Don’t threaten us with Police, ED and CBI,” Raut said.
The Shiv Sena UBT leader claimed that repeated attempts were being made to use government agencies as political weapons against opposition parties.
Sharp Attack on Girish Mahajan
Raut also targeted senior BJP leader Girish Mahajan, accusing him of making provocative statements against Shiv Sena UBT leaders.
“Girish Mahajan will be dealt with within 15 minutes. He was threatening us,” Raut remarked during his interaction with the media.
The statement has added a fresh layer of political confrontation between the ruling alliance and the opposition camp in Maharashtra.
Agencies Being Used for Political Pressure, Claims Raut
Continuing his attack, Raut alleged that leaders from the opposition are frequently subjected to pressure through central agencies.
“Let us have ED, CBI, Police for 5 minutes, they will quit their party and run away within 5 minutes,” he said.
