Mumbai: Congress leader Sachin Pilot has emphasized the need for proactive engagement with voters, stating that the party cannot merely wait for public dissatisfaction with the BJP but must actively reach out to strengthen its voter base. Speaking at the ABP Network’s ‘Ideas of India Summit 2025′, Pilot highlighted Congress’ roadmap for 2025, focusing on organizational strengthening and increased public outreach.
Dismissing allegations that the Congress fails to accommodate allies, Pilot indirectly blamed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the party’s loss in Haryana’s assembly elections, pointing out that AAP contested all 90 seats separately, leading to a narrow vote share difference of just 0.2-0.3% between the Congress and BJP. “It was AAP’s decision to go solo, and the results are evident,” he remarked.
Addressing concerns over the INDIA alliance’s unity after setbacks in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi, Pilot asserted that the coalition remains as strong as ever. He also pointed out ideological differences between Congress and AAP, particularly in Punjab, while defending his party’s decision to contest elections independently in certain states.
Taking a dig at the BJP-led NDA coalition, Pilot accused the government of lacking a common minimum program, claiming that only the BJP drives its agenda without engaging in meaningful dialogue with other parties.
