Telangana Tunnel Collapse: Six Workers Feared Trapped in Srisailam Left Bank Canal Project

Nagarkurnool: A major accident occurred in Telangana’s Nagarkurnool district on Saturday when a section of the roof in the under-construction Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapsed, leaving at least six workers feared trapped. The incident took place deep inside the tunnel, around 12-13 km from the entrance, during ongoing construction work.

Authorities were alerted immediately, and rescue operations are underway to locate and save the trapped workers. The company overseeing the project has reported that six to eight workers may be affected.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep concern over the tragedy and directed immediate relief efforts. The district collector, superintendent of police, fire services department, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), and irrigation officials have been deployed to the site to coordinate rescue operations.
