New Delhi: A sudden and intense spell of rain early Tuesday morning brought large parts of Delhi and the NCR region to a standstill. Gusty winds, waterlogged roads, and massive traffic snarls left commuters struggling to navigate through peak hour chaos.
Air travel was also severely impacted. Major airlines, including IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Air India, issued advisories warning of delays at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport due to adverse weather conditions. IndiGo posted a message titled “A Rainy Day Reminder”, advising passengers to leave early and monitor their flight status closely.
SpiceJet alerted passengers on X, stating, “Due to bad weather in Delhi (DEL) and Dharamshala (DHM), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected.” Air India echoed the concern, writing, “Gusty wind and rain may impact flight operations to and from Delhi this morning… Allow extra time for your journey.”
Delhi Airport authorities also urged travellers to plan ahead, warning of potential disruptions in connectivity due to the weather.
