Police Commemoration Day Observed with Solemnity in Handwara

Kupwara:  To honor and remember the supreme sacrifices made by police personnel in the line of duty across the nation, Police Commemoration Day was observed with solemnity and respect at District Police Lines (DPL) Handwara.

On this occasion, SSP Handwara Sahil Sarangal led the ceremony, accompanied by DySP PC Headquarters Handwara, DySP DAR Handwara, CAPF officers, and other officers and officials of Handwara Police. Members of civil society, retired police officers, and families of police martyrs also attended the event.

Floral tributes were paid to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the service of the nation, followed by a two-minute silence in their memory.

Contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF presented a ceremonial salute to honor the fallen heroes. During the ceremony, SSP Sahil Sarangal read out the names of police martyrs from across the country who made the ultimate sacrifice while safeguarding the nation, and paid rich tributes to their courage and valor.

The event concluded with the laying of wreaths and showering of flowers at the Martyrs’ Memorial, DPL Handwara, by officers, officials, guests, and family members.

As a mark of respect and solidarity, SSP Handwara distributed gifts among the Next of Kin (NOKs) of police martyrs and patiently listened to their grievances. He assured them that all pending issues concerning the families of J&K Police martyrs will be addressed on a priority basis.

Handwara Police reaffirmed its commitment to honoring the sacrifices of its brave personnel and ensuring continued support to their families.
