PM Modi, President Murmu, Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath Extend Warm Diwali Wishes Across India

New Delhi: As the nation celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, key leaders extended greetings to citizens, calling for harmony, prosperity, and positivity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the country on social media platform X, saying, “Greetings on the occasion of Diwali. May this festival of lights illuminate our lives with harmony, happiness and prosperity. May the spirit of positivity prevail all around us.”

President Droupadi Murmu also conveyed her wishes, highlighting Diwali’s spirit of helping the underprivileged. In her message, she said, “Diwali allows everyone to help and support the deprived and the needy, bringing joy in their lives. Celebrate safely, responsibly, and in an environment-friendly manner.” She described the festival as a celebration of “the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil,” emphasizing mutual affection and brotherhood.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined the greetings, praying to Lord Ram for the prosperity of every citizen. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar wished everyone a joyful Diwali, hoping the festival brings peace, happiness, and prosperity to all.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Diwali as a “sacred symbol of the eternal victory of truth.” Sharing his message on X, he said, “May the grace of Lord Shri Ram and Mother Janaki illuminate not only our homes but also our hearts, and may the lamp of faith, enthusiasm, and zeal be kindled in everyone’s life—this is my prayer. Jai Jai Siyaram!”
