New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the Lok Sabha during the Budget session, applauding the grand success of Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. Calling it a “reflection of India’s unity and spiritual strength,” he praised the seamless organization of the religious gathering, which saw millions of devotees, saints, and tourists from around the world.

“I bow to crores of people of the country who contributed to the success of Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj,” PM Modi said, emphasizing how the festival represents India’s deep-rooted cultural and spiritual traditions.

Recounting his visit to Mauritius, he shared, “I had taken the sacred water from Maha Kumbh with me. When this holy water was offered at Mauritius’ Ganga Talab, the atmosphere of devotion and celebration was truly remarkable.”

Modi highlighted that Maha Kumbh fosters the “nectar of unity,” bringing people from every corner of the country together, transcending distinctions of caste and status. He recalled his own sacred dip at the Sangam, saying, “People set aside their egos, embracing the philosophy of ‘not me, but we.’ There was no distinction between big and small.”
