Srinagar: A virtual workshop on Covid-19 sensitization was organised on Thursday by Piramal Swasthya – a branch of Piramal Foundation – as part of its Aspirational Districts Collaborative (ADC) program in Kupwara district.

Top officials of the civil administration, including Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Dy CMO), District Program Manager, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), District Panchayat Officer, and Block Medical Officer (BMO) Chogul participated along with PRI members of the district.

Deputy CMO Kupwara, Dr Manzoor Ahmad, presented a detailed report on the vaccination status in the district and urged all the PRI members to “contribute towards achieving 100 % teenage vaccination”.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Kupwara, Shabir Ahmad, urged Piramal Swasthya to organise more such programs and also conduct a physical workshop on the similar theme. “The department is here to contribute in every way in making Covid-19 vaccination campaign a success”, he stressed.

From Piramal Swasthya, Divisional Program Manager, Narender Lal introduced the ADC program and discussed the role of Piramal Foundation in it. A detailed presentation on Covid-19 vaccination was given by Basharat. North Zone Head of Piramal Swasthya, Agniswar Das also participated in the program along with Dr. Shweta Jha.

It’s pertinent to mention that the ADC program was launched by Government of India in 2018 and is implemented by NITI Aayog in 112 aspirational districts. In Jammu & Kashmir, Baramulla and Kupwara are two aspirational districts where this program is run. NITI Aayog has partnered with Piramal Foundation for the effective implementation of ADC program.
