Mumbai: What was meant to be an unforgettable night of music and memories turned sour for several concertgoers as at least 73 mobile phones, valued at nearly ₹23.85 lakh, were reported stolen during pop sensation Enrique Iglesias’ live concert at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) earlier this week.

According to police sources, the thefts occurred over two consecutive nights — Wednesday and Thursday — when the Grammy-winning artist performed before a crowd of more than 25,000 fans. Tickets for the show reportedly started at ₹7,000, with several premium passes sold out days in advance.

As the international pop star performed chartbusters like Hero, Bailamos, Be With You, Subeme La Radio and Bailando, attendees were swept up in the electrifying atmosphere. However, amidst the loud music and flashing lights, pickpockets appear to have struck repeatedly, targeting people in densely packed areas near the main stage.

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from entry gates, barricades, and nearby stalls to identify suspects. Additional checks are being conducted with mobile service providers to trace the stolen devices.

Several victims took to social media to share their experiences, tagging the Mumbai Police and the event organisers while expressing frustration over the lack of crowd management.
