Few senior leaders met NM Police chief Bipin Kumar Singh and requested him to take action against NCP senior leader Prashant Patil for his controversial statement

Navi Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cadres from Navi Mumbai have raised serious objection to senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Prashant Patil for what they alleged controversial statement ostensibly aimed at senior BJP MLA Ganesh Naik. Prashant Patil while holding a sword at a NCP function is alleged to have made a controversial statement that “is this sword for Ganesh Naik?”
BJP members under the leadership of NMMC former mayor Jaywant Sutar met the Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Bipin Kumar Singh and requested him to initiate action against senior NCP leader Prashant Patil who made a controversial statement against BJP Airoli Constituency MLA Ganesh Naik during the inauguration of NCP office in Navi Mumbai. The BJP delegation also requested the police commissioner to increase the security of Ganesh Naik.
Earlier during an event of office inauguration of NCP in Navi Mumbai which was attended by senior NCP leader and Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad and Prashant Patil along with NCP supporters were present. During the event party supporters gave a sword to Jitendra Awhad during the inauguration which was later taken by Prashant Patil.
Prashant Patil while holding the sword made a controversial statement: what is this sword for, Ganesh Naik? The controversial statement against Ganesh Naik was taken very seriously by the Ganesh Naik supporters and they demanded the Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner to beef up the security of senior Naik.
Jaywant Sutar, Former Mayor, NMMC while speaking with the media said, “We met the Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner and told him about the whole incident which took place during the NCP’s office inauguration in the city. During the inauguration when the NCP party workers gave a sword as a proud gesture to Prashant Patil he asked his supporters that is this sword for Ganesh Naik? We have taken the statement very seriously because whatever was in the heart of Prashant Patil it came to his mouth during the office Inauguration. It is a very controversial statement and needs to be looked into by senior cops. We demand that FIR should be registered against Prashant Patil regarding a controversial statement on our leader. Security of Ganesh Naik should be beefed up by the police officials.”
Speaking with thenews21 Correspondent Navi Mumbai Police Chief Bipin Kumar Singh said, “We will look into the matter and will also see the video clippings to check what controversial statement the NCP leader Prashant Patil has made and accordingly we will take action.”-By Abhitash D.Singh
