The extensive security arrangements come as the city prepares for large gatherings at iconic spots like the Gateway of India, Marine Drive, Girgaum Chowpatty, Juhu Beach, and Bandstand in Bandra, alongside bustling hotels, restaurants, and other venues.

The deployment includes 12,048 constables, 2,184 officers, 53 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 29 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), and eight officers of Additional Commissioner rank. Complementing this force will be units from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Quick Response Teams (QRT), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS), Riot Control Police platoons, and Home Guards.

To maintain public safety, the police have vowed strict action against misconduct, including eve-teasing, public disturbances, and the sale of illicit liquor and drugs. A targeted crackdown on drunk driving will also be conducted from the night of December 31, extending into the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Mumbai Police emphasized the importance of celebrating responsibly and assured citizens of a safe environment. The city’s vigilant approach aims to ensure that revelers welcome 2025 without any incidents disrupting the festivities.
