Mumbai: At least six people sustained injuries after an LPG gas cylinder exploded in Kandivali East on Wednesday morning, officials confirmed. The incident occurred around 9 am, and the Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed to the site to douse the flames promptly. The injured were immediately admitted to Shatabdi Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
Earlier this year, a similar incident shook Mumbai’s Dharavi, when a series of gas cylinder explosions required deployment of nineteen fire tenders to control the blaze.
Later in the day, a truck carrying multiple gas cylinders exploded near PNGP Colony at around 9.50 pm, damaging nearly four vehicles parked nearby. Authorities have identified the truck driver and are working to apprehend him. The explosion triggered widespread panic in the area and caused heavy traffic congestion on the Sion-Dharavi Link Road.
