Thane: Vedanta’s Nand Ghar initiative has debuted in Maharashtra with 25 modern Anganwadis in Thane, marking a significant step in child welfare and women’s empowerment. A project of the Anil Agarwal Foundation, Nand Ghar enhances early childhood education, nutrition, healthcare, and skill development for women. Designed in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD), it aims to uplift 7 crore children and 2 crore women across India’s 13.7 lakh Anganwadis.

Equipped with smart education tools, BaLA designs, smart TVs, and child-friendly infrastructure, Nand Ghar makes learning engaging for children aged 3-6. It also tackles malnutrition by providing fortified meals to children and nutritional support to pregnant and lactating mothers, alongside healthcare services like immunization and routine check-ups.

Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Ltd., and Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc Ltd., visited the Vaghiwali Nand Ghar in Thane, interacting with the community. She emphasised Vedanta’s commitment to scaling the initiative across Maharashtra, ensuring quality early education, nutrition, and self-reliance for women through skill development.

With over 7,500 Nand Ghars across 15 states, Vedanta is driving social transformation nationwide. The initiative’s expansion in Maharashtra will further empower women and children, fostering a stronger, self-reliant future through government-private sector collaboration.
