Srinagar: In a bid to promote sportsmanship, youth engagement, and community development, the Kupwara Police inaugurated the T20 Knockout Cricket Tournament under the Civic Action Programme – 2025 at Kupwara Cricket Stadium, Galizoo. The tournament features sixteen teams from across the district, providing young cricketers with a competitive platform to showcase their talent.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by SSP Kupwara, Ghulam Jeelani Wani (JKPS), Dy SP DAR Kupwara, Gulzar Rashid (JKPS), Inspector Reyaz, and other senior officers. The event attracted a large number of spectators, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for cricket in the region and the vital role of sports in strengthening community bonds.
Speaking at the occasion, SSP Kupwara, Ghulam Jeelani Wani, emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering positive youth engagement and building a stronger relationship between the police and the local community. He reiterated the commitment of Kupwara Police to supporting sports and constructive activities that contribute to the overall development of the youth.
