Katrina Kaif Googled Vijay Sethupathi When Informed About “Merry Christmas” Co-Starring

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi are currently in the spotlight as their film “Merry Christmas,” directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, garners positive reviews from both critics and audiences. In a recent revelation, Katrina shared an interesting anecdote about her initial reaction when Sriram Raghavan informed her about casting Vijay Sethupathi as her co-star.

During a conversation with Brut, Katrina admitted that when the director initially mentioned Vijay Sethupathi’s name, she didn’t immediately recall who he was. In response, she took to Google to refresh her memory. Katrina shared, “I had seen a film called ’96,’ which I loved and stars Vijay and Trisha. But somehow, I didn’t make the connection when sir told me, ‘this is the person who I think I am going to cast in this role — Vijay Sethupathi.’ I didn’t make this initial connection that this is this actor. So the first thing I did was that I went on Google to make sure like refresh my memory.”

Upon googling, Katrina came across pictures of Vijay with a big white beard and hair. She found the look interesting and liked it. When she asked Vijay about the white hair and beard look, he casually mentioned, “It’s my real look,” to which Katrina responded with a playful remark, saying, “maybe, he keeps saying that, but I haven’t seen that yet.”

On the other hand, Vijay Sethupathi shared his initial reaction when he learned he would be sharing the screen with Katrina Kaif. He admitted being shocked and mentioned that many people had questions about how their on-screen pairing would work. Vijay expressed, “Everybody knows Katrina. It was a shock for me also. Like how is it going to be in the film, everybody’s asking, ‘how is this pair on screen?’. The same way I also have that fear and the doubt.”

As “Merry Christmas” continues to make waves, the unique pairing of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi has intrigued fans, making the film even more anticipated.
