Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray declared on Saturday that his party would conduct a special puja at Nashik’s Shree Kalaram Temple on January 22. The former Chief Minister of Maharashtra extended a humble invitation to President Droupadi Murmu to attend the event. Thackeray revealed plans for a massive public rally in Nashik on the same day following the prayers at Shree Kalaram Temple.

Thackeray emphasized the significance of the special Godatiri Pooja and expressed gratitude for extending the invitation to President Murmu. He stated, “We will hold a special Godatiri Pooja at the Shree Kalaram Temple in Panchvati, Nashik. We have humbly and respectfully invited the President to grace the event.”

In a recent development, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP and spokesperson Sanjay Raut criticized Prime Minister Modi for visiting the Kalaram Temple in Nashik. Raut claimed that the Prime Minister’s initial schedule did not include a visit to the temple but was later added after Shiv Sena (UBT) announced their visit on January 22.

“Narendra Modi is in Nashik Today. His initial plan did not include a visit to the Kalaram Temple. But when we (Shiv Sena (UBT)) announced the pooja in Kalaram Temple on January 22, they planned PM’s visit to Kalaram Temple,” Raut asserted.

Responding to questions about attending Lord Ram’s ‘Pran Pratistha’ in Ayodhya, Thackeray highlighted the importance of inviting the President, drawing parallels with the precedent set by the first President, Rajendra Prasad. Thackeray stated, “I’ll go to pray at the Ayodhya Temple at the appropriate time… Lord Ram is not someone’s private property… We ask the Centre to invite the President to perform the temple’s Pran Pratistha ceremonies on January 22.”

Thackeray affirmed his commitment to Hinduism, staunch support for Hindutva, and patriotic stance while clarifying that he is not a blind follower but a thoughtful advocate of his beliefs. The upcoming events in Nashik and the discourse around Ayodhya continue to draw attention and political discussions in the region.
