Hundreds of people gathered in a horse funeral on Sunday in Karnataka’s Belagavi area. The crowd forgot that there is a lockdown in the state and hundreds of people were seen without masks and no social distancing.
“The district administration will look into this incident, and action will be taken,” Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai assured after the video went viral.
Karnataka is presently under a state-wide lockdown that was recently extended till June 7. This is a complete lockdown wherein there is no movement of public or private vehicles allowed, except in case of emergencies. Inter-state and intra-state movement of passenger vehicles are allowed only in the case of emergencies and all social, political, cultural and religious events and congregations are prohibited. School and colleges as well as public spaces such as cinema halls, malls etc remain shut.
