COVID-19: Over 21 crore 80 lakh vaccine doses provided by centre to states, UTs so far

The Centre has provided over 21 crore 80 lakh vaccine doses to the States and Union Territories so far. This has been given both through the free of cost category and through the direct state procurement category. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is over 20 crore doses. More than 1.80 crore COVID-19 Vaccine doses are still available with the States and Union Territories.

The Health Ministry said, over 48 lakh vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be sent to the States and Union Territories within the next three days. As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Central government has been supporting the States and Union Territories by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In addition, it has also been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the States and Union Territories. Vaccination is an integral pillar of the comprehensive strategy for containment and management of the pandemic, along with Test, Track, Treat and COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
