Belagavi: Discontent within the Karnataka Congress ranks deepened on Tuesday as senior MLA Raju Kage openly threatened to resign, echoing concerns raised earlier by fellow Congress legislator B.R. Patil. Speaking to reporters, Kage criticized the state’s bureaucratic functioning, accusing government officials of inaction and alleging a complete administrative breakdown.

“What B.R. Patil said is absolutely true. The same situation is being created for me as well,” said Raju Kage, expressing deep frustration. “It wouldn’t be surprising if I submit my resignation to the Chief Minister in the next two days.”

Kage’s remarks come in the wake of recent statements by BR Patil, who had also voiced disappointment over the lack of administrative will and accused state officials of neglecting developmental work in their constituencies.

Reinforcing similar grievances, Kage pointed to the delay in executing government-sanctioned development projects. “The Chief Minister’s special grant was approved—Rs 25 crore was sanctioned. But even after two years, the work order hasn’t been issued. What should I tell the people who trusted me and voted for development? This is not governance. The administrative system has completely failed,” he said.

Kage emphasized that he had raised the issue multiple times but had not received any resolution or action from concerned departments. “Officials are not working properly in our government. They are indifferent to the concerns of public representatives. I am deeply hurt,” he added.
