Unique Artworks Worth ₹10 Lakh Among Major Highlights at Delhi Edition 2026 (20 February – 1 March)

New Delhi : Karigar Bazaar – Delhi Edition 2026, the capital’s largest celebration of India’s traditional crafts and artisan heritage, opened today at Gate No. 13, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. The exhibition brings together more than 200 master artisans and National Award-winning craftspeople from across the country.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Vijay Ranjan Singh, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Ltd. (SPMCIL), Government of India. He appreciated the initiative for creating meaningful platforms that connect artisans with wider audiences and markets while preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.

Sacred Stones of the Narmada and Divine Wooden Masterpieces from Tirupati

Among the most captivating attractions this year are extraordinary artworks created from pebbles of the sacred Narmada River, brought from the Indore region, revered as the city of Mahakal. These intricate compositions are crafted by carefully combining the natural shapes, textures, and colours of river stones. Remarkably lifelike, the artworks appear to possess their own voice and expression, reflecting not only artistic imagination but also a deep spiritual and cultural connection rooted in India’s natural materials and craft traditions.

Equally mesmerising are the exquisite wooden carvings from Tirupati, where artisans demonstrate exceptional mastery, seemingly breathing life into wood through their craftsmanship. Grand sculptures of Lord Balaji and Lord Ganesha, valued at approximately ₹10 lakh, have emerged as major conversation pieces at the Bazaar. These works symbolise the devotion, patience, and technical excellence that define India’s artisanal heritage.

Together, these creations represent India’s profound cultural continuum — from sacred rivers to temple traditions — showcasing how craftsmanship remains a living expression of identity, faith, and heritage.

Speaking about the initiative, Aamir Khan, Director and Co-founder, Karigar Bazaar, said:“Karigar Bazaar is not just an exhibition; it is a heartfelt effort to bring India’s extraordinary artisan communities closer to urban audiences. Every craft carries generations of knowledge, culture, and identity. Our vision is to create a platform where artisans receive the recognition they truly deserve, while visitors experience the authenticity and richness of India’s living traditions.”

The Bazaar also features live craft demonstrations, cultural performances, and curated regional experiences, creating an immersive environment that allows visitors to engage directly with India’s diverse artistic traditions.

Karigar Bazaar will continue over the coming days, offering residents and visitors of Delhi an opportunity to witness the richness of India’s craft heritage under one roof.
