A dramatic escalation in rhetoric emerged at the Raisina Dialogue 2026 as Iran warned it would fight “to the last bullet and last soldier” against what it called an invasion by the United States and Israel.

Speaking in New Delhi, Saeed Khatibzadeh said Iran is currently facing what he described as a full-scale war and vowed that the country would continue resisting military pressure.

Iran Says It Is Under Direct Attack

Khatibzadeh claimed Iran is facing continuous attacks from both the United States and Israel.

According to him, Iranian cities including Tehran are under constant bombardment as the conflict intensifies.

“We are under attack and invasion by Americans and Israelis. My fellow citizens are facing continuous strikes. We have no option but to resist to the last bullet and the last soldier,” he said.

He described the ongoing battle as a “heroic national defence” and insisted that Iran would continue to resist external aggression.

Iran Accuses US of Breaking Global Norms

During the discussion, the Iranian diplomat also accused the United States of violating international diplomatic norms.

Khatibzadeh alleged that Washington had carried out actions equivalent to the assassination of a head of state, warning that such actions could destabilise diplomatic relations globally.

“If this becomes the new norm, then no country on earth will be able to maintain normal diplomatic relations,” he said.

Iranian Warship Sinking Sparks Anger

The Iranian official also strongly criticised the sinking of the Iranian naval frigate IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean earlier this week.

He said the vessel had travelled to the region to participate in the multinational naval exercise MILAN 2026 hosted by the Indian Navy.

According to Khatibzadeh, the ship was unarmed and attending a ceremonial event when it was allegedly attacked.

He compared the incident to tactics used during World War II, accusing the United States of targeting a defenceless vessel and causing the deaths of dozens of Iranian sailors.

Warning Over Possible Ground Invasion

Khatibzadeh also warned that Iran is fully prepared if the United States launches a ground invasion.

He said Iran would resist any attempt to overthrow its government or interfere in its political system.

“They cannot come thousands of miles from their border to carry out a colonial mission and change the political structure of another country,” he said.

Iran Highlights Historic Ties With India

Despite the tensions, the Iranian diplomat emphasised the long-standing cultural and diplomatic relationship between Iran and India.

He said both nations share deep civilisational links rooted in Indo-Persian heritage and confirmed he had brief interactions with Indian officials during the dialogue.

According to him, Iran attaches great importance to maintaining strong ties with India.

Iran Calls Conflict an “Existential War”

Khatibzadeh concluded by calling the ongoing conflict an “existential war” for Iran.

He accused the United States and Israel of attempting to destroy Iran’s political system and warned that Tehran would respond by targeting locations from where attacks originate.

“This is a resistance not just for Iran but for the region, international law and the principles of global diplomacy,” he said, adding that Iran would continue its struggle until the aggression stops.
