Ahead of the presentation of the 2026–27 state budget in the Assembly, Ashish Jaiswal, a minister in the Maharashtra government, urged citizens to wait for the official announcement, assuring that the government remains focused on development and economic growth.
Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Jaiswal said the budget would reflect the government’s long-term commitment to strengthening Maharashtra’s position as one of India’s most powerful economic engines.
He added that the budget would be formally presented before the Assembly at 2 pm, outlining the administration’s strategy for growth and future development.
Government Focused on Development Roadmap
Jaiswal said the government has taken a collective approach to guide Maharashtra toward sustainable development.
According to him, the leadership is working together to ensure that policies are implemented efficiently and that the state continues to progress in multiple sectors.
He also noted that the government remains committed to delivering on the mandate given by the people during the last elections.
“The leadership fully understands the responsibilities entrusted to it by the citizens of Maharashtra,” the minister said, adding that the upcoming budget will reflect that responsibility.
Maharashtra’s Role in India’s Economy
Highlighting the state’s economic importance, Jaiswal said Maharashtra continues to play a crucial role in India’s overall growth.
The state remains one of the largest contributors to the national economy, driven by strong industrial output, services, and financial activities.
He stressed that the government aims to ensure that Maharashtra stays at the forefront of policy innovation and economic expansion.
Vision for ‘Developed Maharashtra 2047’
The minister also referred to the government’s long-term policy roadmap titled “Developed Maharashtra 2047.”
The vision document focuses on transforming the state into a highly developed economic hub over the next two decades.
According to Jaiswal, the upcoming budget will align with this roadmap and include policy measures aimed at strengthening infrastructure, industry, and social development.
Investment and Employment in Focus
A major priority for the government, Jaiswal said, will be attracting more domestic and international investment to the state.
He explained that increasing investment would help create new employment opportunities, particularly for young people.
Encouraging industrial growth and strengthening multiple sectors will remain central to the government’s economic strategy, he added.
The minister concluded by saying the budget would reflect the administration’s broader vision of sustaining economic momentum while addressing the expectations of the people of Maharashtra.
