Srinagar: A medical camp was organised by the Shakti Vijay Brigade of the Indian Army in village Amrohi located along the Line of Control in the Karnah Tehsil.  A team of four Army doctors and paramedic staff including a lady doctor provided medical services to the needy people in this far-flung village. The people from the nearby villages of Chattkarian and Parada also benefited from the camp.

During the camp the doctors provided extensive medical health check-ups, prescription and medicines to approximately 376 people that included males, females and children.  The issue of general hygiene, balanced diet and preventive healthcare were also covered during the awareness talks by the doctors.

Local NGO namely Khatam Noor Charitable Trust headed by Mohammad Shafi Poswal assisted in organising the medical camp. The trust is active in the fields of education and medical services.

Such medical initiatives are being undertaken by the Army on a regular basis out here.  The medical team informed people about the importance of personal hygiene and also appraised them about Covid-19 related precautions. The doctors also exchanged their mobile numbers with villagers and assured medical consultation through phone (TeleMedicine).  The Sarpanches and villagers expressed happiness with the medical services being provided at their doorsteps.
