Indian Army provides humanitarian assistance to Behnipora fire victims

Srinagar: In an unfortunate incident early on Thursday morning, four houses along with a cowshed and livestock of the villagers in Behnipora were burnt down to ashes because of the accidental fire in the house.

These houses were in the Sheikh Mohla of Behnipora and a total of 19 people resided in these houses. Thanks to the almighty that no family member was harmed due to the fire, however these families lost their homes and livestock in this tragic incident.

Personnel of the 15 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army immediately reacted to the situation and a total of 26 soldiers rushed to the accident site and with the limited fire-fighting equipment available and helped the villagers in fighting the fire.15 RR also provided the families with all the basic dry ration and temporary shelters in terms of Tentages to live in.

The humanitarian assistance provided by Indian Army was highly appreciated by the villagers and civil administration and have provided succour to the bereaved families.
