In a display of remarkable courage, endurance, and teamwork, a team of mountaineers from the Indian Army, led by Col Rajneesh Joshi, accomplished a historic feat by successfully climbing Mount Kun, towering at an impressive height of 7103 meters. The challenging expedition, carried out on behalf of the esteemed 19 Infantry Division, tested the team’s mettle as they confronted adverse weather conditions and overcame numerous challenges throughout their arduous journey.
The momentous expedition commenced on 8th July, with the team ceremoniously flagged off from Baramulla by Maj Gen Rajesh Sethi, SM, VSM, GOC 19 Infantry Division. Setting out from the base camp on 11th July, the intrepid mountaineers fearlessly braved the unpredictable elements, pushing their physical and mental limits to the extreme. With unwavering determination and the indomitable spirit characteristic of the Indian Army, they conquered Camp 1, Camp 2, and Camp 3, steadily inching closer to their ultimate goal.
The crowning moment of triumph arrived on the 18th of July at 11:50 AM, as the team reached the awe-inspiring summit of Mount Kun. Adding an extraordinary touch to their accomplishment, the mountaineers performed Yoga at an astonishing altitude of 7103 meters, setting a new record as the highest point ever where Yoga has been practiced.

Buoyed by their recent accomplishment, the same resilient team will now descend to the road head camp and embark on their journey towards Mount Nun, carrying with them the hopes and aspirations of the entire nation.
