Indian Army conducts Inter Village Games for girls and boys at Mawar valley

Srinagar: Continuing with its efforts to organise and promote Sports culture in Mawar Valley, Naugam Brigade of the Indian Army organised village games at Middle School Lawoosa.

A girl’s event of Kho-Kho was organised wherein teams from Government Upper Primary School, Chak and Government Middle School, Lawoosa participated. In a very closely contested thrilling match, the team from the Government Middle School Lawoosa was declared as the winner.

For the boys an event, Arm Wrestling was held in the village for the age group 18 to 21 years. In an event on a knockout basis, 12 boys participated in the competition. In a closely contested final, Altaf Gani won the title defeating his opponent in the finals.

A healthy crowd was there who cheered their respective participants. Village Sarpanch Mashooq Ahmad was also present during the event and encouraged the youth to participate in sports activities as he distributed awards to the winners.
