Srinagar: The Indian Army in association with District Hospital and Department of AYUSH, Kupwara district organised a medical camp for local people of Ramhal and Tarathpora blocks.
The camp was organized at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) wherein a Gynaecologist, a Dental Surgeon, an Orthopaedic, a Paediatrician, a Medical Specialist, two AYUSH doctors, a Physiotherapist and four Medical Officers from the Indian Army worked round-the-clock on Wednesday to provide medical support to the villagers.
A total of 453 patients registered and got themselves checked by mid-afternoon, and still more villagers were coming for the medical check-up. Besides the routine medical check-up, special emphasis was laid on screening people in vulnerable age groups for cold injuries and lifestyle diseases.
Specialists’ advice and awareness drive on COVID, AIDS, Burn and Cold injuries, Family planning and immunisation was also imparted during the interaction. Community leaders expressed their satisfaction and happiness over the initiative taken by the Indian Army and Union Territory health centres.
