“India Won’t Bow to Nuclear Blackmail”: Jaishankar Slams Pakistan Over Pahalgam Terror Attack

Vadodara: In a strong-worded response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar declared that India will not surrender to nuclear threats and will continue to take bold actions in its national interest, especially against terrorism and its sponsors.

Speaking at an event in Gujarat’s Vadodara, Jaishankar said, “What we saw was an attempt to devastate the tourism economy of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as well as an evil design to bring about religious discord.”

The April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which targeted a tourist bus, was widely condemned across India. The minister revealed that the attack was part of a larger strategy to derail peace in Kashmir and incite communal divisions.

In a sharp counter-response, India struck back at terrorist command centers across the border.

“The barbarity of the killings required an exemplary response which was delivered by destroying terrorist command centers, especially in Bahawalpur and Muridke,” Jaishankar asserted.

He further reaffirmed India’s unwavering stance against nuclear intimidation: “We will never give in to nuclear blackmail, and whatever decisions are to be taken in India’s national interest are taken and will continue to be taken.”

In what was seen as a direct message to Pakistan, Jaishankar issued a stern warning: “It is imperative that those who sponsor, nurture and utilize terrorism for their ends are made to pay a high cost.”
