New Delhi: In a special briefing on the recent surge in cross-border tensions, the Indian government confirmed that Pakistan launched an unprovoked night-time assault on India, attempting to attack 26 critical military locations. These included key sites such as Udhampur, Pathankot, Bhuj, Bhatinda stations, and an attempt to strike an airbase in Punjab with a high-speed missile at 1:40 am.
Colonel Sophia Qureshi, addressing the situation, detailed the aggressive tactics employed by Islamabad, which included drone strikes, fighter jet incursions, and long-range missile launches targeting India’s western borders. “Pakistan has been continuously attacking India’s western borders using a combination of drones, fighter jets, and even long-range weapons,” Colonel Qureshi said during the briefing.
In response to the escalating provocations, the Indian Armed Forces (IAF) carried out focused and precise military strikes on “identified military targets,” Colonel Qureshi confirmed. The targets included crucial military infrastructure such as technical facilities, command and control centres, radar sites, and weapon storage areas, all key to Pakistan’s offensive capabilities.
