Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday raised serious concerns over the untimely death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, describing the plane crash that claimed his life as suspicious and urging a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding it.
In a candid statement, Raut said, “Questions will indeed be raised on the accident of Ajit dada, questions should indeed be raised. The manner in which a leader like Ajit Pawar, a tall leader of Maharashtra, died in a plane crash and the facts which are coming to light – it should be investigated, I think there is something dubious here.”
He added that Pawar’s own party members were questioning the incident. “His death is suspicious. Something did happen behind the curtains,” Raut claimed, alleging that Ajit Pawar had expressed a desire to “return home” shortly before reportedly receiving threats from the BJP related to the Sinchan Scam files.
Raut recalled that Pawar had responded to these alleged threats concerning the scam files and noted, “He died mysteriously within 10 days of that. What do we understand from this? This reminds us of Justice Loya. Did someone do something here?…”
