New Delhi: The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on Uddhav Thackeray’s petition challenging the Election Commission’s decision to allot the official Shiv Sena party name and election symbol (“Bow-Arrow”) to the Eknath Shinde faction.
The matter was heard before a bench comprising Justices Surya Kant, Ujjwal Bhuyan, and N.K. Singh.
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Thackeray, urged the court for an early hearing, citing the urgency due to local elections scheduled in January.
Justice Surya Kant scheduled the next hearing for November 12.
