Haryana Government has extended the suspension of internet services, all SMS services including bulk SMS services except banking and mobile recharge services and all dongle services except the voice calls in the district of Karnal till 11.59 PM today in view of Kisan protest in Karnal.
The orders by department of Home Affairs said, as per reports from Additional Director General of Police /CID, the situation in Karnal is still volatile and further intensification of farmers protest is expected, which may adversely affect the public safety and law and order situation in the district of Karnal.
The government said, the telecom services are being further suspended because the rumours and misinformation on social media platforms may mobilise the agitators and demonstrate leading to deterioration of law and order situation in the district.
